Chattanooga Day One: The Zoo

Of course Lily had to wear her animal dress from Aunt Cynthia to the zoo. It only made sense that way. So, the Chattanooga zoo is okay. Jason and I were glad we only had to pay $1 a piece. Fortunate for us we decided to go on Wednesday and they only charge $1 all day long on Wednesdays! Very cool idea. So if you ever go to the Chattanooga zoo, go on a Wednesday! I was talking to Lily on the way to the zoo about how we might see elephants and giraffes and zebras...well none of those were there, but they did have racoons, goats, camels, a red panda (Jason's favorite), tamarins (which we had never heard of, but were my favorite), 2 large white cats that were napping, some birds and reptiles. All in all it was okay. It was a great day so we were glad we could walk around outside and just enjoy being together.

Blowing a kiss to a bird.

Checking out the area of random animals they threw together: peacocks, deer and I am drawing a blank on what else, but it appeared to us as a random assortment that didn't belong anywhere else so they put them all in one place.

We ended our trip to the zoo with Lily's first ride on a carousel. She had a blast with Daddy. The second time around with Mommy, not so fun. She didn't want to sit any longer and kept getting off the seal she was supposed to be riding.
After the zoo we went to Chili's for dinner, which was a disaster. Lily was just a mess and did not want to eat anything. I ended up just taking her outside and letting Jason, as well as the people behind us, eat in peace.
We stayed in a Homewood Suites because we wanted to be able to put Lily down for bed and not have to go to bed ourselves. It was great having the bedroom separate from the bathroom and we had a kitchen as well as a family room. It worked perfectly and Lily did great sleeping in her pack and play. It was a very pleasant experience and Jason was thankful they served bacon every morning with breakfast!
