We were so excited to hear we were going to be getting 12-18" of snow right before we left for our Christmas trip to Louisiana. I couldn't wait to take Lily out to play in it.

Here she is all bundled up and ready to brave the cold.

Happy to be out in the snow. She didn't want us to let go of her, but she just wanted to walk around. She was not overly interested in sitting down or exploring the snow in any other way than walking in it.

She did in fact enjoy our neighbor's sled that they let us borrow! We ran her up and down the street and around the cul-de-sac and she loved it. We couldn't get her to come inside for dinner she was having so much fun.

The aftermath was a little overwhelming for Lily. She did not enjoy being out in the full 14 or so inches that were on the ground the following morning. It was too restricting for her and she just kept getting frustrated. So we played outside for a little while, but then stayed inside for the rest of the day as we packed and prepared to leave the following day. I did make my first pot of vegetable soup and it turned out pretty well considering I only had what was in the house to work with. It was a great way to use all the vegetables we had before we went out of town though. All in all we enjoyed the snow, the soup and all the hot beverages we drank! It brought back some great memories of our own childhoods!
