Lily and I made some chocolate sugar cookies the night before Valentine's day and we had a lot of fun using cookie cutters and red sprinkles to decorate the cookies. We talked about all the ingredients in the cookies and she really enjoyed saying the words "baking powder" for some reason. She said it many times during the night and it made me laugh. Jason took the majority of the cookies to work and got to enjoy them on Valentine's day.

Simon, sadly, had his normal oatmeal, barley and cinnamon mixture along with a banana. We are waiting until he is 1 to reintroduce whole wheat so he won't be having any bread until then. Sad news for him, but he loves his oatmeal and banana so I don't think he minded.
After breakfast we headed over to our friend Lillianne's house for a Valentine's day party. It was a fun morning full of finger paint, glue, markers, jewels, rice krispy treats, icing, sprinkles, toys and delicious snacks. We couldn't have asked for a better way to spend the morning than with good friends.

Jason made us a lovely appetizer, dinner and dessert that evening and we enjoyed spending time together as a family. It was definitely a day full of love!
Normally I would have made Jason a cherry and chocolate combination for dessert but when he came home from lunch he expressed that he had eaten too many cookies and wasn't feeling too swift so I opted to wait for a different day to make this years Valentine's day treat. It will be a fun surprise for him one day soon.
